Description:
These fine models are
faithful re-creations of a 17th Century Dutch Caravel. These were fast
sailing vessels more maneuverable than earlier Spanish Galleon type
vessels designed more like floating forts than sailing vessels. The San
Miguel Arc Angle was conscripted into service or chartered by the Spanish
Crown and Casa de Contraction to be an Aviso Vessel or the King's
Messenger ship - the equivalent of the "FAX Machine of her day".
Our Fine Models are
handcrafted from Mahanoy and other exotic hardwoods. The actual ship was
believed to be approximately 75 - 85 feet on the water line and she
probably had a draft of 9-12 feet of water
